An orthodontist salary is very good and will give you a high living standard but there is a lot of training that needs to  be completed before you even are let loose near a patient.

Orthodontist salary can vary, if you are working in a private practice the average salary will be $90,000, however if you run your own private practice you can expect to be earning an average of $195,000. Becoming a orthodontist can be a very rewarding job financially and knowing you have helped improve someones self esteem by correcting their oral problems.

I would like to be an orthodontist but how much training is involved?

To become an orthodontist you will need to get a good high school diploma and science should be a consideration as these subjects will be needed in further education, following this a good university degree will be needed for you to get accepted into dentistry school where you train to be an orthodontist and your salary will be low and it  will take you three to four years to complete. You need to decide which field you will  specialize in after completing dentistry school and if you decide to become an orthodontist it will be another two year course to give you the training you will require.

It does take a while to get the orthodontist salary you require and make good money but it can be worth it.There is  no upper limit to the orthodontist salary as the more complicated the dental work gets the more that is charged and that all comes down to experience and this is what puts orthodontist salary in a very high pay bracket. Combine this with location and the orthodontist salary can be extremely lucrative.
